2021.09.26 07:37 waterworldhypothesis Should you pronounce the s in leurs even if the next word doesn't start with a vowel?
Or do you only pronounce the s if the next word starts with a vowel? If that is the case, then how can you tell the difference between leur and leurs when the next word does not start with a vowel?

hi i got a lab due and i need help graphing a p-t, v-t and a-t graph based off a object being pushed up an incline and then sliding back down to assuming the original position. The graph doesn't need to be accurate.
According to the rules i gotta show what I already did but idk how but i can describe what i drew for the p-t graph i drew like a shark fin for v-t its up then down then down then up and for a-t it looks like an expanded V

2021.09.26 07:37 Gramps___ Black Screen and Non-Functioning 'New Campaign' button
So I've been running BG for a while with mods, was doing some searches on Nexus today, found a bag of holding mod, installed it normally but on start the background was black, and I can't start up a new game, and loading a previous just tells me 'mod installed but not enabled' which I haven't seen.
Worst of all, if I remove the new mod, the issue remains. Any help?

Does anyone know - if we want to ask a program advisor whether we can count a course at another campus in our program requirements, do we have to do it before the course starts or can we ask midway through a course (i.e. right now)? Thanks!

2021.09.26 07:37 ammaliatore Seeking Help: Defining the Analytics Engineer and the Machine Learning Engineer
| Hi all! I have been working on a personal project that attempts to use data to help define the emerging roles of the Analytics Engineer and the Machine Learning Engineer. Seeing the quality of discussion in this subreddit, I thought that this sub would be a good place to get a second opinion on my methodology.|
It is possible to look at the technologies and functions featured in the descriptions of job postings to better understand how the industry has chosen to define various data-related roles: paying particular attention to the Analytics Engineer and the Machine Learning Engineer roles.
The (wild?) speculation:
The emergence of the Analytics Engineer is a response to current data tooling making data visualization and processing easier than ever. Particularly on the processing side, MPP databases have abstracted a lot of the difficult computer science problems, which helps democratize the ability to process large amounts of data. This allows data practitioners to focus more on the applications of data. This has paved the way for a new type of role, the Analytics Engineer, to straddle the line between Data Analyst and Data Engineer- effectively performing both of these roles. For companies that don't generate novel data, for example marketing companies that are ingesting data from Google Analytics or vendor APIs, there isn't much need for full-fledged Data Engineers. However, there is still a need for someone to set up simple pipelines using tools like Stitch or Fivetran. And of course, these companies still have a need to analyze this data. Thus, the Analytics Engineer was born.
On the other hand, the recent popularity of the Machine Learning Engineer is a response to companies, swept up in the buzzwordy promises of "data science" as a panacea, over-hiring Data Scientist positions without having the proper infrastructure to apply the work of Data Scientists. I believe that companies are now realizing that there is a strong need for team members that not only have the skills to understand data science principles and workflows, but to more importantly productionize the models created by Data Scientists to put their work to good use. Enter the Machine Learning Engineer: data practitioners that don't necessarily need strong visualization or statistical modeling skills, but rather strong skills in software development to help build enterprise-scale machine learning systems.
I set up an ETL using AWS Lambdas and AWS RDS that uses SerpApi to scrape job postings on Google for the following positions:
I manually collected a list of data-related tools and functions, and attempted to map them to broader data functions. For example, Fivetran and Airflow are tools for ETL, Python and Java fall under software development, Linux and CI/CD fall under DevOps. However, this is the area I struggled the most with and would definitely appreciate suggestions on how to better group the technologies / job functions.
I then bumped this list up against the job descriptions contained in the dataset, determining what percentage of job descriptions for each role contained a particular tool, technology, or function.
These are the resulting visualizations of my analysis for each role:
Processing img 8fap3f7nvpp71...
Processing img poo2mi2pvpp71...
The results are somewhat in-line with what I was speculating. The core functions for Analytics Engineers appear to be mixture of data engineering and data analysis. However, Machine Learning Engineer job postings appear to have more of an emphasis on data science and software engineering skills.
There is an argument to be made that using job postings might not be best sources for defining these roles because job descriptions may not accurately reflect the tools actually being used by companies posting the positions. For example, a company that uses Airflow may reference Luigi or Oozie in their job posting. In this case, I would argue that specific technology is not as important as identifying the fact that a particular job posting is requesting knowledge about pipeline scheduling tools in general.
Right now, I've collected over 44,000 unique job postings, with more coming in each day- if anyone would like to play around with this dataset, please let me know and I would be happy to share.
Please let me know what you think of my methodology or if you think I may have missed something!

For context I'm coupled and we both non monogamous, she doesn't advertise hers on profile however I do (for her it makes sense not to as most of her matches are not actually looking for long term)
