2021.09.26 09:05 Xzaith_Productions Mata-Nui: Part 1 - Chapter 8: Recreations
Interlocking the fingers of both hands, she leaned forward, lowering the head as her arms rested on her legs. Toa Gali didn't want to say anything in particular, letting her long blue hair act as a wall between her and Turaga Nokama. The leader of the village hadn't told her anything that she didn't already know. Turaga Nokama's way of giving her information was very different from Turaga Matau's, the latter being quite fast and skipping some details.
The only reason it had taken them so long to finish their conversation had been solely because of Gali. She had spent most of the time complaining about her short encounter with her Brothers, going over the scene over and over, finding more to complain about in each review.
Turaga Nokama had been glaring her with that absent gaze. At first, she had been trying to give her advice on how to deal with her teammates and what it really meant to be a team and follow a leader, but she quickly just nodded and pursed her lips so that any off-key comments would not slip away on Toa Gali's behavior.
_ And at that moment was when Toa Lewa dumped you _ she had said with a certain acid touch. She had heard that conclusion several times and was already getting tired of it.
At any other moment, using a "dumped you" seemed crude to her. Turaga Nokama would have used any other variant, but her patience was not at high levels.
_ That's how it is. I insisted, I can assure you.
_ I believe it... _ she replied with a serious tone.
_ They didn't want to listen to me. No one wants to listen to me. We must all work together, but there is no one who can put that idea into their hard heads.
Turaga Nokama shifted her cane from one hand to the other as she meditated, rising slowly from her seat and walking around her house, tapping her cane against various surfaces as she spoke, approaching several glass tubes that came out and reentered through the ground, seeing a lots of little Rahi coming and going.
_ Let me tell you a story, Toa Gali. Maybe will get you to pass this... ahem... great annoyance. It will make you see your situation differently.
》 They were lost in the middle of the ocean, they were safe. Or at least one of them believed they were. The turquoise-colored Matoran was crouched on the side of the boat, with a crooked expression and still shivering when the sun hit her hard on her exposed head, she had ignored the suggestions of her Sisters from covering herself with a cloth or putting herself in the shade of the mast.
Another Matoran, light blue in color, paced up and down, sure in every step that they were heading in the right direction. There was no doubt about it, they had to be on the right track. They would see the mountains of the island of Mata-Nui in no time, or even the Three Fingers. They just had to continue as before and everything would be fine; Everything had worked in their favor during the trip, why would it change now?
The third, the leader, was crestfallen on the wheel, unable to say anything. She was staring nowhere, lost in thought, listening to the wood creak with each step and each wave. The sun was burning the back of her neck, but she didn't want to move. Several beads of sweat fell from her face to the ground and she closed her eyes. She recapitulated the trip over and over again, whipping herself with every little flaw that had led to this disastrous situation. What other option could she have? She was the leader, after all.
Each was immersed in her own head, not wanting to listen to the others. The blue Matoran struck the leader, pushing her away. After a quick stumble, the two looked at each other, the leader furious, but not energetic enough to say anything against the attack of anger from her partner, the one she should call "Sister" from now on.
The blue one demanded to know what was the reason for her behavior, striking the ground with her foot before grabbing the hem of leader's neck in a threatening way. She shook her as the demands for a responses grew more and more aggressive, having large beads of sweat falling all over her face and her neck.
The light blue Matoran shook them apart, couldn't bare the shouting anymore, pointing in a direction that seemed totally random, demanding that the leader start the trip at once, since they were just wasting their time standing there, arguing, for the thousandth time.
A desperate moan was heard from the turquoise Matoran, she had shrunk and began to whimper, saying how surely they would get lost going in that direction, that there was no direction to go and that it was all over for them. She even dared to proclaim that Mata Nui himself had abandoned them to their fate, something that only made the other two in a worse mood, but not enough to abandon their defeatist roles for more than a fleeting moment.
After the words of the blue one, clarifying that they were not lost, the leader approached the turquoise and struck her with an open hand, clarifying that she would not tolerate cursing on her ship. It almost seemed that the leader was going to take the reins of the situation, as she had done before being in that horrible situation, but she did not.
The blue Matoran crossed her arms, shaking her head and complaining about the idotesque situation her companions had put her into. She was convinced that she had the solution; as I said, nothing would change her mind. She grabbed the wheel and spun it around, changing course without consulting the rest of the team, not wanting to hear any more groans or silences that led nowhere. She really was furious. She really believed she had the solution.
And, in her selfish actions, one of the Matoran accompanying her fell into the sea, stumbling until they heard the splash of the sea and a choked scream.
Their first reaction was to drop everything they were doing and rush to her aid. In no time, they were able to pull her out of the water. But, while they were distracted, black storm clouds had crept up on them so fast that it would have seemed the work of Makuta himself.
The sea, clear and calm, had turned into a very aggressive black liquid. The sky, once blue, was now a dark gray, illuminated only by the occasional lightning that fell very close to them, around them, generating tense moments in which they could only hold on to each other and wait for the thunder to pass.
Scared, they hugged. For the first time in their entire journey, the dark blue Matoran and the turquoise Matoran agreed on something, too bad it was the most negative idea they could think of: They wouldn't get out of there alive.
The leader, who had not been able to stand up yet, blaming herself even for the storm that was hitting them, saw her two companions lose their temper, secretly thanking such horror for having managed to make both of them stop arguing for a single moment.
The leader couldn't stay on the floor of the boat, she had to do something. She jumped to her feet and gave the order, authoritative as never before, firm even in the rough tide. Both Matoran rushed to their respective positions without thinking, one removed the sail and the other headed for the stern to keep the boat on course.
The three of them, in complete panic, kept as best they could in the boat. Following the leader's orders, it took them no more than twenty minutes to emerge from the storm, leaving that horrible experience behind. The blue Matoran had slumped over the wheel, panting. The turquoise had gripped the mast with all her strength and her hands were stiff and injured. Meanwhile, the leader, remained firm at all times, trembling in place, but firm.
She commanded the blue Matoran to keep up, aiming for the front. Neither of them wanted to contradict her. They were lost in the middle of the ocean again, but this time her leader was acting like one.
The turquoise Matoran climbed on the mast, looking everywhere to try to find some indication of which way to go, and as soon as she did so, following the instructions of her leader, they could see the Three Fingers in the distance, their way back to home."《
Turaga Nokama delicately ran her hand over a strange apparatus made of semi-cylindrical metal plates and many dangling ropes, tied to blue stones at varying heights. After a moment's hesitation, she ran her arm across the stones, making each one touch her. The oscillation created a melody that caused the Turaga to change the hand cane again and turn in the general direction of the Toa.
_ Do you understand what I mean, Toa Gali?
She nodded, still having completely misunderstood the simple story of the Turaga, since the latter had forgotten to explain the moral right at the end.
Having nothing else to talk about, Turaga Nokama suggested that she take a walk around the village while someone prepared a place where she could rest for the night.
_ I almost forgot, I have a visiting hero to thank.
Gali started to leave, jerking to her feet, hitting the head on the ceiling, and moving quickly toward the door. She had to lower her head a bit to keep from hitting the ceiling, but she bumped into something else. Letting out an "Oh, my", the nameless Matoran had fallen to the ground on his back and a dull sound.
_ Oh my, excuse me! Are you okay? It was a complete accident! I did not see you!
Turaga Nokama hit the threshold of the door with her cane and went outside with the rest.
_ Turaga Nokama _ greeted the Matoran that didn't want to say her name with a low and calm tone.
_ Hello, Hahli. Have you finished your homework today?
_ Homework? Oh, my chores, yes, Turaga Nokama. All in order.
_ Hm, as expected. You have always been a hard worker.
After this little interaction, the focus returned to the Matoran and the Toa.
He sat on the ground, feeling a pain in his lower back and shoulder that he had decided to hold back on.
At that moment, in the light of the Red Star, yellow eyes returned a worried look. Gali reached out her hand, bending gracefully to help him to his feet, her silhouette glowing red, which didn't match the color of the hair and her body at all.
The memoryless Matoran, with a goofy face and without a word, reached out his hand and allowed himself to be helped until he was standing, facing each other.
_ Are you okay? I can't stop apologizing...
_ Yes I'm fine. My fault for not looking where I was going _ he rubbed his shoulder uncomfortably, no longer feeling any discomfort.
Gali sat up, resting a hand on her hip, tilting her head in the same direction as he smiled with a teasing touch.
_ What were you doing standing there? Were you spying? Not very decent Matoran thing to do. _ Gali stiffened suddenly. _ Oh, it's you.
The memoryless Matoran's core flickered worryingly, fixing his gaze on the Toa.
_ Eh? _ was the only thing he could say.
_ I saw you trying to protect the Turaga.
He felt a slight pang of disappointment, but tried not to show it in his expression.
_ Oh, that. Yes, it was me.
Gali put a hand on his head suddenly, again causing his core to flicker. Although, this second time, Gali's did too.
_ Unarmed, with no way to defend yourself or others... you weren't even going to attack, you just wanted to protect... _ there was a pause, making the Matoran think that she was scolding him. He was beginning to feel embarrassed. _ It is a good quality. Any Toa would have done the same thing you've done. Protecting others is the most important... always.
The Matoran's shame turned to pride, and back to shame, as this situation was too much for a first meeting with a stranger.
_ But, also... _ the Toa continued with a slightly more severe tone. _... it has been something very reckless!
The pat on his head began to be a reprimand, waving her hand and ruffling his hair somewhat violently.
_ Next time, make sure you are at least armed!
_ Ouch! Ow! _ still complaining, he could not suppress a somewhat silly laugh. _ Okay, okay, sorry, I'll be more cautious in the future!
Gali stopped, returning to his starting position, her mocking look back on her face.
_ Something tells me that this is not true...
The nameless Matoran put both hands to his head, somewhat in pain. Hahli approached him from the side and patted him on the back in consolation.
He shook his head to "comb his hair", wanting to continue the conversation with the Toa.
_ How good that you appeared at the right time, Ga... Toa Gali. All went well.
_ True... but it could have gone very wrong if I had not arrived on time, Matoran. Keep it in mind. I may not always be there to help.
_ Mmm ... well, if you're not there, I'll be there. I just have to copy those fighting moves from before and voila. Right?
The Toa laughed, somewhat incredulous. She patted him on the head again and that ended their conversation. Turaga Nokama and Hahli had been silent the entire time, watching how the two behaved strangely while they were together. It seemed that both had been replaced for two totally different ones.
Luckily for everyone present, that situation completely changed in just a couple of seconds. Kotu approached them in a flamboyant outfit with light, half-transparent fabrics falling from the shoulders, over the forearms, and hanging from her hips and entwining in ribbons that fell like a tail to the ground.
_ Greetings, Toa Gali _ was the first thing he said, giving Ga-Koro's salute before addressing his leader. _. Turaga Nokama. The function is ready, no one wants to start until you are present, ma'am.
With a short moment of silence, in which the Turaga was turning her staff between her fingers with both hands, she nodded, taking a couple of steps towards Kotu before he showed her the way, lending support.
_ I urge all of you to watch the show. Specially you, traveler. What better reward for helping us than entertainment.
"A warm bed or a good plate of meat. A neck massage... a hot water bath..." were the first thing that crossed the mind of the nameless Matoran as possible rewards, but he just smiled and nod with feigned enthusiasm, following the Turaga and Kotu.
_ You too, Toa Gali. The people of Ga-Koro will be very excited to see you there.
She bowed slightly, hiding her hands behind her back.
_ Of course _ she released, not too convinced. _, I'd love to.
And with that, the small group that had formed in front of the Turaga's hut now moved in unison towards the big stage. Illuminated only by bioluminescent Rahi with the intention that everything was dimly illuminated.
_ Toa Gali! Toa Gali!
_ Over here, over here Turaga Nokama! Everything is ready.
Several Ga-Matoran approached them quickly with enthusiasm in their voices and big smiles on their mouths, they seemed to be in charge of that work. The nameless Matoran could vaguely recognize some of them, assuming he would have helped them at some point of that long day.
The small group quickly divided in two as the two most important figures were dragged to the front rows. Turaga Nokama and Toa Gali (along with Kotu), were decorated with flower crowns and necklaces of light colored seashells.
The nameless Matoran just stood there, fixed on Gali with a blank stare. In part, he wished she had insisted that he, too, go to the front and sit next to each other. He would have come off as a complete rude shameless if he hadn't remembered at the last moment that Hahli was there with him. They both looked at each other. Did she have a sad or disappointed look? The truth is that he didn't want to think about it too much, he felt bad, but not enough to confront a stranger about a problem that perhaps he was inventing at that moment due to nerves, fatigue, sleep or lack of energy.
_ Let's go see the show _ he forced a cheerful tone, trying to hide how uncomfortable he felt.
"On the other hand, she seems normal. A little quieter than before, but she may be because of the crowd... right?" he wanted to convince himself, walking slowly to the large crowd that was sitting on the floor on cushions.
They both imitated the rest, seeing a couple of free "seats". The nameless Matoran and Hahli were next to each other, and the former no longer felt that slight wave of comfort next to her. He seemed to be radiating a very hostile aura that prevented him from looking at her face.
The show was about to start. The few lights dimmed and silence fell instantly. A chaotic and inharmonious melody began to play as the musicians on both sides of the stage finished tuning their respective instruments.
(In the scene everything is dark. NARRATOR walks towards the middle)
NARRATOR: (Different elements light up as they are named) "In the time before time, the Great Spirit descended from the heavens, bringing with him, us, the Matoran, to this paradise. We found ourselves disunited and without design, so the Great Spirit enlightened us with the three virtues: Unity, Duty and Destiny. We embraced these gifts and gratefully gave our island the name of Mata-Nui because that is the name of the Great Spirit. But our happiness would not last because Mata Nui's brother, Makuta, was envious of those honors and betrayed by casting a spell on Mata Nui who fell into a deep sleep. The power of Makuta seized the land, the fields became barren, the sunlight faded and the ancient values were forgotten. However, we glimpsed a thread of hope. According to the legends, six mighty heroes, the Toa, would arrive to free Mata Nui. Time would reveal that these were not mere myths, as the Toa would appear on the shores of the island. They arrived lacking in memories, they didn't know each other, but vowed to defend Mata Nui and his people against the shadows. Tahu, Toa of Fire. Onua, Toa of Earth. Gali, Toa of Water. Lewa, Toa of Air. Pohatu, Toa of Stone. And Kopaka, Toa of Ice. Great warriors with immense power emanating from the elements. Six heroes with a single destiny: defeat Makuta and save Mata Nui. This is their story. "《
The nameless Matoran felt a slight tingling in his head, he seemed to have some memory of that story. It made him twist the gesture that seemed displeased to anyone who looked at him at that moment, as Hahli had done, who changed position in her seat and hugged her legs, hoping that their gazes would meet, without any resulting.
》 Scene 2
(Sea bottom. TOA GALI's container is thrown in the middle. More waves are heard.)
NARRATOR: "The six Toa fell from the sky, each in a container. The tide caused them to part and each ended up on a different beaches."
TOA GALI (Exits from inside the container) "Finally, it is time. Called by Mata Nui, here I am to fulfill my duty, united together with my Brothers, the destiny that has been imposed on us will be completed and the glorious Mata Nui will awaken from his long sleep. Makuta will be defeated finally!"
TOA GALI: (He moves from side to side.) "But where are my Brothers? How can we defeat Makuta if I am alone?"
(MACKU enters the scene and TOA GALI gasps in surprise.)
MACKU: TOA GALI, I have found you. It is I, MACKU, a brave and adventurous Ga-Matoran living in our beloved Ga-Koro, proud to be under the leadership of TURAGA NOKAMA. I can be somewhat irresponsible at times, sneaking out many times to explore and venture into dangerous adventures, but you can always count on me when you need it."
TOA GALI (greets MACKU politely) "Oh, by Mata Nui, a Matoran. That which I and my Brothers must protect forever. Tell me, Matoran MACKU, have you seen any of my Brothers?"
MACKU (sadly and urgently) "I'm afraid not, brave TOA GALI. But there is a serious problem in Ga-Koro. A terrible and dangerous Rahi TARAKAVA has attacked us."
TOA GALI (Anguished and with an alarm tone) "It can't be! Let's go, Matoran MACKU to our beloved village! I will defeat that malevolent creature of Makuta in the blink of an eye!"
(The waves in the background are rising as TOA GALI raises her arms) 《
The stage faded to black again. While the next scene was being prepared, it could be heard the occasional murmur that denoted a certain enthusiasm and excitement. The memoryless Matoran was bored, he had leaned badly in his seat and was forcing his jaw to stay in place so as not to start yawning.
He wondered for a moment if Macku would be embarrassed about the portrait of her in the play. At the moment when the actor who played her appeared, there was the occasional cheer that seemed sarcastic and the occasional giggle could be heard coming from the audience.
》 Scene 3
NARRATOR: "TOA GALI and MACKU headed for the village of Ga-Koro as fast as they could. The damage was severe, but they had not been late. Even though the Matoran of Ga-Koro were in grave danger, a mysterious traveler had appeared from nowhere in particular and had helped them out from under the water, but that strange Matoran couldn't handle a beast as ferocious as TARAKAVA. "
(Ga-Koro village in ruins. TARAKAVA sculpture hidden to one side. Villagers huddle to opposite side. MATORAN TRAVELER and TURAGA NOKAMA are in front, protecting the rest with their bodies.)
MATORAN TRAVELER: "I have come to help! Like the Toa, I, too, will fight day after day against the forces of Makuta. All united, we will be able to resist until the six great Toa can save us."
(The TARAKAVA moves forward and grunts.)
MATORAN TRAVELER: (With fear) Y-you don't scare me, beast! We can deal with you!
(TURAGA NOKAMA stands next to him and attacks the TARAKAVA with water and her Kanohi)
TURAGA NOKAMA: "Brave MATORAN TRAVELER, your courage has inspired me to use my few fighting skills, as I am not a warrior, but a sage and the leader of this great place. Your courage has inspired me. Forward, people of Ga -Koro! Let's stop this creature long enough until TOA GALI can rescue us!"
(The Ga-Matoran take their weapons. TOA GALI and MACKU enter)
MACKU: "I have fulfilled my objective, my mission. TOA GALI has arrived!"
GALI: (she stands between the Ga-Matoran and the TARAKAVA) "This is my mission. You have been brave, it fills me with joy to be able to protect Matoran as heroic as the Toa themselves."
》 Scene 4, ending
(The Ga-Matoran, the TRAVELER MATORAN and TURAGA NOKAMA retreat. TOA GALI and TARAKAVA are in front of each other. TARAKAVA attacks and TOA GALI dodges its attacks)
TOA GALI: (lifting a wall of water behind her and creating a storm around her) "I am TOA GALI, spirit of the sea. Every drop of rain, every change of tide, every river that crosses this precious land created by Mata Nui, I control it, I feel it. Warrior of the Great Spirit himself, will not fall before a creature like you, Makuta."
(TOA GALI orders the water to attack and after a couple of hits the TARAKAVA falls roaring and retreats. TOA GALI moves to center stage. The Ga-Matoran, TURAGA NOKAMA and the TRAVELING MATORAN enter.)
NARRATOR: (The different elements light up as they are named) "With his first battle accomplished, TOA GALI reunites with her Brothers, the rest of the Toa, who embark on an epic adventure throughout Mata-Nui to search for the Masks of Power, an intense test to which the Great Spirit spirit has placed them. Along with their Brothers: The meditative TOA ONUA; the intelligent TOA KOPAKA; the intrepid TOA LEWA; the energetic TOA POHATU and the brave TOA TAHU, will descend into MAKUTA's lair and destroy it forever, thus awakening to Mata Nui, and returning the peace." 《
And, as soon as it had started, the show was over. The actors joined in a bow to the audience who applauded quite enthusiastically. The nameless Matoran decided to clap as well so as not to be rude, even though he still had a couple of tears about to fall from the amount of yawning he had tried to hold back. "I'm just tired, it's been a long day," he tried to justify himself for no reason.
The play hadn't been too bad, in his opinion, there was even a moment when he pointed to the stage when he saw himself being portrayed by a Ga-Koro actress wearing red body paint, looking towards Hahli with a silly smile.
Maybe it had been a coincidence, he thought, but the aura of hostility on the part of the Matoran who didn't want to give him her name, had disappeared after that. He saw her shake her head slightly at one point in the play, and he didn't know if it was because she wasn't liking itnor because she was immersed in her own thoughts.
Shortly after that, shortly after the actors spoke with Turaga Nokama and Toa Gali, it was finally going to be the turn of the Matoran without memories, or "Traveling Matoran", to finally be able to speak with the village leader as she herself had asked so long ago. To him, it seemed that the events of that morning had occurred weeks, even months ago.
He and Hahli stood talking to the side, distancing themselves from the crowd, somewhat uncomfortable since neither of them knew what the other was thinking about the play, and they didn't want to sound like on edge when criticizing it.
The nameless Matoran stared at the actors and everyone who had participated in the play collecting the confetti and props.
The memoryless Matoran pointed his thumb at the stage, pointed over his shoulder and stayed in that position for a second, making the gears in his brain screech.
_ Do you want to go help with the cleaning?
The Matoran who didn't want to give her name seemed to have taken all of that by complete surprise. She had stayed with the arms in front of her, clutching her left wrist with one hand and looking at her new friend with her head slightly tilted.
_ Oh, uh ... _ she rubbed her arm, uncomfortable. _ The truth is that...
That was all it took for him to understand the situation. He raised both hands in apology.
_ Don't worry _ was the only thing he could think of to say.
She nodded, looking down at the ground. After a moment of silence, she looked back at him.
_ Today has been a crazy day. I think this "proud Ga-Matoran who lives in the wonderful Ga-Koro, which is protected by the brave, smart and brave again, Ga-Toa", needs to rest.
He chuckled, covering his smile with his hand before composing himself and nodding.
_ And this, uh ... "Matoran Traveler who is not afraid of anything", is going to help pick everythig up. I hope we see each other again. You still have to tell me your name.
_ Same here _ she answered at once, with a slight friendly accusatory tone.
She waved goodbye, and before she knew it, they had parted ways and were alone. Hahli returned to her hut and the nameless Matoran went to help as much as he could, always keeping an eye on Turaga Nokama for when they could speak. His body ached, his head was spinning, and his bad mood surfaced only in his expression, having to stop several times each time someone asked him if he was okay, having a "I'm just tired", or a "yes, all is well, thank you ", as vague and insincere responses.
As he continued to help, seeing the expression and the change in mannerisms of those around him made it clear to him who was heading towards them. He picked up the pile of confetti and streamers he had been piling up and tossed it into a nearby box, sitting up to see Turaga Nokama and Kotu approaching him.
Turaga Nokama rested her staff on the ground, jingling the Lightstones that he now carried adorning each end of the trident.
_ Traveler Matoran, I had promised you one... _ she made a thoughtful gesture with his hand. _ ... chat. If you don't mind, let's go to my rooms.
The nameless Matoran nodded enthusiastically, his eyes were dry from exhaustion and he couldn't wait any longer to be able to sleep.
As he imagined, everything he and the Turaga talked about revealed nothing to him at first. They went over old concepts that the nameless Matoran had been able to understand thanks to the play: The Legend of Mata Nui, the Toa, their mission, the Rahi, Makuta... all these were already known concepts that, if someone else explained them again, he would go crazy.
From Kotu's reaction, who was serious and crossed his arms, letting the Turaga speak, the traveler should have a not too friendly expression while she spoke, but he was too tired to care.
_ The detail that you have no memories prior to the morning you woke up worries me. Have you had any more strange experiences? For example: not recognizing everyday objects, confusing Matoran, finding yourself disoriented and lost.
He denied with his head. Kotu spoke.
_ So, it is very likely that it is due to the blow you have on your forehead, on the left side _ he pointed out unnecessarily.
Turaga Nokama passed her staff from one hand to the other, letting the ornaments clink.
_ Yes, that seems the cause, but you never know. You always have to be alert to any details, discrepancies, contradictions... each mind works differently, especially in the details. I recommend that you explore Mata-Nui, it is very possible that visiting places or recreating your experiences will make your mind open and you can recover your precious memories. By your colors, traveling Matoran, I would say that you belong to Ta-Koro.
His core sped up at that revelation. Even his sight blurred for a second, changing his grumpy expression to a more docile one in the blink of an eye.
_ It's rare to see a Ta-Matoran outside of Ta-Koro, really. You are usually very tied to your village.
_ Kotu says it this way _ Turaga Nokama shielded herself with a reproachful tone _, since there are very few Ta-Matoran merchants.
_ ...And they always come up with some excuse to talk about Ta-Koro.
_ Kotu _ warned the Turaga with a severe tone.
The nameless Matoran was nodding his head absently. After a moment, which he used to let that information settle inside his head, he reported that he had plans to go to Po-Koro for Macku. His plans had changed their priority.
After the conversation, Turaga Nokama thanked him again for helping her people and asked Kotu to prepare a cabin for him so that he could spend the night, something that the nameless Matoran enthusiastically accepted.
Even in his mentally and physically exhausted state, he managed to help Kotu clean an empty and somewhat messy cabin and then prepare a bed for him and leave him alone, saying goodbye.
The Matoran, sitting up on the bed, jumped up, scared. Something had squealed just under the thick, rough blankets, as he pulled them up, he saw an inflatable cushion that made a shrill sound when squeezed.
Not wanting to spout anything out of his mouth that he might regret, he threw the inflatable cushion Kotu had set aside and threw himself on the bed, laboriously pulling his clothes off. At last he was lying down again. His body ached, he was tired, his eyes were dry. Luckily, he had gotten used to the tide enough that he didn't make him dizzy so often. It was going to be a long night, and without even covering himself, he fell into a deep sleep.
